The Wifo Minituber planter is designed for the accurate and careful planting of sorted minitubers. The machine uses the Koningsplanter planting unit, which supports precise placement with consistent spacing and depth. This helps growers make efficient use of propagation material while supporting uniform crop development and a high quality end product.
The MP range is available in several configurations, allowing the machine to be matched to the grower’s working method and planting situation. Depending on the model, the Wifo Minituber planter is available with 2 or 4 rows and row spacings from 75 to 90 cm. Options include different track widths or row spacings, row shutdown, sensor sets, bunker extensions, lighting, markers, a Gandy spreader and a spray kit.
The minitubers are transported gently from the hopper to the planting unit. Adjustable distribution flaps and a vibrating agitator help guide the tubers in a single line, while the planting distance is set mechanically using the toothed gear and chain wheel. The planting depth is determined by the adjustable depth wheel, and the disc coulters earth up the minitubers after placement.
